The History of Del Webb

Retirement changed forever one sunny day in 1960. Some 100,000 smartly attired guests in dress shoes strode along the sidewalks and streets, marveling at the first true retirement community, Sun City by Del Webb.

Since then, every Del Webb community has, in its own unique way, helped retirement evolve further. Today, more than 50 Del Webb communities across 20 states offer incredible amenities on a level that residents years ago couldn’t imagine.
