I am so delighted to hear that you volunteer your time singing with a volunteer community chorus! I do not know if there is a volunteer community chorus in our area, but there are many choruses affiliated with various groups. Perhaps you would like to speak with our lifestyle director, Judy Agliata, about the opportunities for a chorus at Del Webb or perhaps she might have knowledge of a volunteer chorus in the area. At this time, we do have a Performing Arts Group at Del Webb. As far as other volunteer opportunities in the area, there are many that one can participate in. Generally, there are many of the same kind of opportunities in the area as you would find in any other locale of this size.

Yes, we do have some residents that are retired military. I do understand that Tricare is accepted in the area as we do have Naval facilities here.

Yes, the environment at Del Webb Ponte Vedra is quiet and peaceful (aside from the construction). Neither my husband nor myself has encountered any problem with noise in the neighborhood. Actually, nothing surprised us after moving into the community about the community. It is a wonderful place to live and I hope that if you have not visited it yet, that you will do so soon. My husband enjoys classic and antique cars as well as air rifle and pistol shooting. I don't see any of these types of clubs listed. Do you know of any groups in the area that are involved with cars or guns?

It is hard for me to rate the taste of water because everyone has a different standard. Houses are not built in our Del Webb community with filtration systems, but one can easily be added.

Healthcare facilities in this area are plentiful. The closest hospital, Baptist Medical center South, is 13 miles from our community. We have quite a number of hospitals in the greater area as well. The Baptist Health System and the Mayo Clinic (16 miles from our community) are two of the bigger healthcare systems in the area. People that I have spoken with have been pleased with their medical care that they have received and my husband and myself have not had any complaints either.

We do have a condo building that has been sold out for quite some time and the carriage homes have been sold out as well and these are the ones where fees include exterior maintenance. All of our free standing homes must be maintained by the owners themselves. Many do choose to hire help to do the maintenance work or it can be done by the owners themselves if preferred. I can tell you that we do have single people living in our community who do attend many of the activities that couples do! We actually do have a singles group here as well! I would suggest that perhaps to get a better feel for yourself that you consider participating in the Explore Del Webb program. This would allow you to stay in the community and actually participate in activities that are geared for all to attend and perhaps visit us when you can attend a Singles Group meeting when it is held so you could get more information with the “singles”. Congratulations on purchasing your homesite! We moved to DWPV in 2008, so not being a sales consultant, I am not certain if the same colors are being used now as when we purchased. The colors I feel are very pleasant and that you probably can’t go wrong with any of them.
We did have a little more inside lighting added after we moved in.
I am not aware of any complaints about flooding.

Our Nocatee Town Center is accessible by golf cart. Thus far this town center includes a grocery store with a pharmacy, Liquor store, hair salon, a vet, an eye doctor, a restaurant, frozen yogurt shop, a cleaners, and a nail salon. I believe a dentist will be joining the town center before long. As more residents move into Nocatee (of which Del Webb Ponte Vedra is part of) more businesses should folow!
The closest beach is about 6 miles away, but is not accessible by golf cart.

House guests over the age of 55 are allowed to use the Del Webb facilities when they are visiting resident. A temporary pass is not needed, but the resident must accompany the guest and remain with the guest while using the facilities.
Since the Del Webb community is surrounded by a state forest, I have two questions. Is hunting allowed in the state forest surrounding the community and do they treat the community for mosquito's especially during the summer months
Our community is surrounded by a preserve. Hunting is not allowed any time during the year. Our community is treated for mosquito's but a resident needs to call the Mosquito Control Board in St. John's county.
I realize the Del Webb comnunity is gated and a private community but does the local county sheriff's dept. regularly patrol the neighborhoods inside your gated community and do they respond to home alarm systems going off? As far as I know, the local county sheriff's dept. does not regularly patrol the neighborhoods inside our gates, but I have seen them within our Del Webb community from time to time. We chose Ponte Vedra over other village sites because it is easy to access good medical care, its location allows less likihood for hurricanes to hit us head on as in other locations of Florida, and the weather in this location is more suitable for us.

I myself do not know of any service, but perhaps a property management service of some sort might be able to help. Also if you have a security system, hopefully they would notify of any emergency. We lived in Florida before but were driven out by the extremly high property taxes. What would the tax run for about a 2000 square foot house in Ponte Vedre?
While I’d love to answer your question, the information that you seek could be best addressed by someone at the County tax assessor’s office. The only information I have is based on my own taxes paid, and my situation might differ from yours (size and exact location of home, etc.). How far is the beach to walk. You answer a couple of Miles. can you give the exact distance to walk say from the entrance to the Beach. Is it a walkable distance. And can you have a Golf Cart and can you use the Golf cart on the walking path to the beach?
Mickler’s Landing Beach Park is 6 miles from Del Webb Ponte Vedra. The distance to walk from the entrance to the beach is approximately 500 feet. One cannot use a golf cart on the walking path to the beach. However, golf carts can be used in our Del Webb community but there are rules on where the golf cart can be kept.

Yes, we do have Public and Semi-private golf courses within the area. I am not a golfer, but we do have a list that lists 4 public golf courses (18-32 miles away), 9 semi-private golf courses (10-31 miles away as well as private and resort golf courses. There are no plans to add a golf course in our Del Webb community, but I understand that land has been designated for a course in the Nocatee area, in which our Del Webb community is located along with other communities.
We do have a Men’s golf group as well as a Women’s golf group in Del Webb Ponte Vedra.

As a resident here in our beautiful Del Webb community for the past 4 ½ years I feel we are not at all isolated. We are about 15 minutes to the closest indoor Mall and about 20 minutes to our beautiful Town Center which has hundreds of stores! The movie theatres are 15 minutes away. We are fortunate to have the St. Augustine Amplatheaclose by as a matter of fact my husband and I went last weekend to see a concert there and are going in a few weeks to see Chicago there. The outdoor venue is about 20 minutes away too. We have the Cummer Museum close by as well. We do have bus trips in our community which take us on short day trips. The one which was really enjoyable was the trip to St. Simons Island.
My wife and I are considering relocating to your fabulous community. We know the community is pet friendly and wondering if there's been issues with barking dogs and what does a resident do if a dog is barking excessively.
As for a pet friendly community, we have many residents who have dogs. I have not felt it an issue at all with barking dogs in our neighborhood.

We do have a duplicate bridge club and many other card groups including canasta. Nocatee is a planned community that has several housing developments, a beautiful New Town Center which hosts several businesses including a beautiful grocery store, hair cuttery, nails salon, yogurt shop, an eye doctor, and a veterinarian. Come out and visit our community. My grandchildren love the Splash Water Park here in Nocatee and we are about 10 minutes to the beach! Lots to do and see at our Del Webb!
Are alligators within the community boundry? Is it safe to walk a small dog (Yorkie)? Are their rules about having to have pets on a leash?
There are some alligators in our ponds here and yes we are a dog friendly community. It is safe to walk a small dog. I used to have two Yorkies myself as long as all pets are on a leash.

Property taxes are roughly one percent of the sales price on a home here. The electric bills are roughly $80.00 per month and water around $130 per month which includes our reclaimed water. Hello, My husband and I would like to relocate to your community. We are deciding between Del We'bb (age restricted) and Nocatee (non age restricted). We are leaning toward Del Webb. Your area is beautiful, in a great location, and the builder is well thought of. Our ages are 56 and 57.
My question: where can I find someone to help me find a long term rental in the area. We are selling our home in No VA and don't want to be homeless! Is there a realtor who would work with us?
We have so much to offer in our Del Webb community. You should come visit us. The sales consultants will be able to assist you with long term rentals in our area. We have so much to offer including a beautiful clubhouse with an indoor heated pool, outdoor pool, sauna, spa, beautiful fitness room and arts and craft rooms, including a kiln for our artsy people.
How do you compare this community and lifestyle to area country club living (pluses/minuses of each)? Related question: With Nocatee, you are with two communities, sets of amenities and fees. How worthwhile is this,considering extra cost? Thanks, Phil and Nancy with visit planned in March.

What homes are presently being built? Can you buy a piece of land to build on in about 6-9 months?
We have 10 beautiful models to choose from at our Del Webb. We do have a delay start program and you will need to talk to one of our sales consultants regarding that program.
We are concerned about storms, floods and hurricanes - what damage has been done in recent years? Any problems with flooding or hurricanes?
We have been very fortunate not to have any storm damages in our community since its inception.
Are there rules for maintaining your property (ie. plantings and painting, etc.) and who takes care of the lawn maintenance for single family homes.
Rules regarding property maintenance. We are responsible to get our own lawn service in the single family homes. Many of us in the different areas use the same lawn service which is very reasonable. We can do our own plantings in the planting beds in the front yards. Painting you can do your own on the inside. The outside homes are already painted to conform with each community.
Do you pay school taxes living in this community?
Yes we do pay school taxes.
How do the property taxes compare to similar subdivisions.
Taxes are very reasonable in our community.
Is the subdivision dog friendly?
Yes our community is very dog friendly.
I have a couple of questions:
- how many miles are you from the beach?
- are pets allowed? If so, is there a weight restriction on the pet?
We are just a couple miles over the intracoastal to the public beach named Micklers Landing. It is a beautiful beach. Yes pets are allowed. Dogs and cats.
My husband and I enjoy boating (both power and sail) - can you recommend any nearby marinas? Also, is there a "group" for boaters at the Del Webb community or in the area?
There are many clubs at our Del Webb. We do not as yet have a boaters group going but many of our residents do enjoy boating up and down the intracoastal waterways.
We just started looking for a home in the Ponte Vedra area. What are the advantages of buying in Del Webb vs. the older established subdivisions in Ponte Vedra Beach, closer to the ocean? Those communities also have clubhouses and pools.
The advantages of buying in our Del Webb Community are many! I lived in Ponte Vedra Beach myself for 7 years before moving into this community. We have a beautiful new clubhouse with an indoor heated pool, outdoor pool, sauna, spa, fitness room, beautiful ballroom just to name a few things. There is so many activities here that will keep you busy every day. We are a short distance to the ocean too. I just love it here! You would too. Come for a visit if you can!
I have been doing some looking all over the state of Florida for a place to retire somewhat close to the ocean and I like Ponte Vedra, but some of the things that concern me are that the prices of their new homes seem more expensive than other Del Webb communities and they don't even have golf courses. I like to golf and my wife likes the beach. Also, my other concern there is that there is so much there they want to develop that it might never get completed. What are your thoughts on these things?
Thanks for your question! If you have not yet visited our community, please do! We have Explore Del Webb Program that allows you to stay a couple nights and explore our community. I also play golf and the women play once a week and the men play several times a week at area courses. We seem to enjoy playing at the different courses and most of them are located nearby. If you wife enjoys the beach Micklers Landing, our local public beach is beautiful and minutes away. I have lived here for over 4 years and really enjoy this community.
If you want to go to the beach for the day, what do you do since there isn't a clubhouse for bathrooms, showers and lunch?
We do have public restrooms, showers at our local beach. Also, its fun to bring your lunch with you. If you do enjoy swimming you can go to our Anastasia Clubhouse and enjoy lunch in our café, swimming in the indoor heated pool and we do have nice, new showers.
Is it possible to rent a property ? It's a big move to leave your home in the north and come down there permanently.
It is possible to rent a property. From time to time, a rental is available. However, you would need to contact a general real estate agent to learn about any availability as the Del Webb Ponte Vedra sales office does not handle rentals. Del Webb Ponte Vedra does offer a program called Explore Del Webb where one can stay in the community for up to 3 nights and experience the Del Webb lifestyle. Which floorplan did you buy and why?
I have a Stetson model, which they are not building anymore. It's around 1680 square feet, but there are similar models which are just as beautiful.
Do you like the location?
I love the location. We are surrounded by beautiful nature preserves and so close to the ocean. Close to shopping. We have a beautiful clubhouse with lots of amenities.
How do single people fit in there?
Very well. We are one big family. All our activities are well attended by both singles and couples.
What do you do in your neighborhood to get together?
We do have lots of get togethers at our clubhouse but our neighborhood gets together a couple times a year and go out to dinner or have pot lucks. The ladies get together occasionally for lunch out and movie day out.
Is there anything you don't like about living there?
Yes. We don't have enough hours in the day to do all the fun things we have here at our Del Webb!
What made you decide to live there?
We looked all over this area and decided this was the place for us. Our clubhouse is gorgeous. All the people here a very friendly. It' s like resort living!
