Living the Life
My husband and I moved here a little more than a year ago. We have enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people. Folks here just seem to be friendly. There is no end to the activies available here, but our favorite is the entertainment brought here by our Lifestyle Director and Social Committee. We wish we had moved here sooner.

To much whiz not enough bang seeing some
Eratic pool temps and maintaince of ac and heaters.
Sprinklers in Pine brook still not doing the job--but ground maintanence has improved 100%
Reunion Center always too cold for events--chairs are the most uncomfortable I have ever seen--real punishing after less than and hour of sitting biggest reason the movie program failed as well as the soud system not being up to the task.
General comment from friends and neighbors is that Pulte seems to do things on the cheap that results in higher costs and inconvience in the long run.

Good and Bad
Positives: The area is comfortable for those who like spaces and a touch of country. The clubs and programs offer a wide variety of things to do. The fees are affordable.
Negatives: Some home designs do not take into consideration the need for more lighting (eyesight is not what it used to be), energy efficiencies, definite need for more storage space (residents have accummualted a lifetime of stuff that they are not ready to part with - we ain't dead yet); clubs are resistent to new members with new ideas making them unfriendly; no information on viability of lot to support plants (important to those who have clay soil and are gardeners). Amenities center is too small now for the current residents and will be a disaster when the development is built out.
Suggestions: offer a home that is energy efficient - low e double pane windows; extra insulation in the attic; sun tube sky lights; solar attic fan; solar water heaters; etc. If this could not be done as a whole house, it definitely should be offered. Encourage clubs to have an open house to new members. Gaming tables are a necessity with the type of activities the community offers - those clubs who use the game tables could help buy them - through events such as diners, dances, fairs (arts, crafts, bake sales, etc) and Pulte should review the types of tables it offers for their big events.
I think Pulte should reconsider the basic tenent of buying into a lifestyle when the homes they offer need to be upgraded. Centralization of buying and decision may seem to be the way to go but the needs of a DelWebb home in the NE is quite different the needs of a DelWebb home in the SW. Regionalization may offer the type of home and amenities best suited to the area. In answer to the question BOTTOM LINE: on condition they looked at the nitty gritty of the home, just not the hype.

Most of it is great!
Unfortuntely we are given no choice on cable, and our water bills are extremely high. This is because of a deal Pulte made with On Top of the World, who owned the land. We now must live with this because of the developer's decision.

Over all, I love it. A couple of things I'd change: more choices in cable/satellite; no hidden charges to OTOW for services; a fenced/contained area as a dog walk-park and prohibited congregation of pets and owners in other ares.

CRUISE SHIP THAT NEVER SAILS
We love, love, love it here at StoneCreek. However, you should know that closing with PULTE was an absolute nightmare and unbelievably stressful. Horrible experience, to say the least. Not sure the people at PULTE really knew what they were doing.
We love our Villa. People are just lovely, helpful, friendly and fun. Grounds are gorgeous and well taken care of. Pools are amazing and beautiful as is the gym.
Am in a Villa and did not realize so many restrictions re. putting some of our own flower pots around and that everything has to be "approved." Would love to see Pulte/Del Webb put better plants and flowers in front of the villas. Also, have a backyard area, but type of grass used is so difficult to walk on. No fun going out into yard. Grass around Sales Office and models is so much nicer and plusher than what homes have. RE. PLANS: Light Switches could be better thought out. Had to pay Electric Company extra money to add a switch so didn't have to walk clear across the entire living room in the dark after having to shut off living room lights at the only switch located at the opposite end of the master bedroom. COUNTERS OVER SINK INTO LIVING ROOM IN THE ALEXANDER should all be wider. AUGUSTUS has wide counters, good for serving or having extra eating area. ALEXANDER's counters are too narrow.
Though still busy furnishing our home, we have not participated in a lot of activities yet, but do hear and have noticed that there just aren't enough rooms for the activities and people play cards and mah jong in the public areas such as the guest area near the front desk and the library, etc. Club House needs more space at Stone Creek to accommodate these very popular activities and growing population. Rest Rooms are beautiful and so clean. Gym is beautiful, Locker Room so clean. Need more space for ping pong, etc. Currently room shared for other classes. Activities are plentiful, but did not realize have to pay for almost every social event no ma

Stop delaying on the softball field.
I have only one very big complaint. I have lived here for 6 1/2 years, and still no discussion of when we can expect a softball field. One of the reasons I moved here was the promise of a community field. The recession is over, the economy is improving, home sales are increasing - lets get going with the softball field. Also, as a resident ambassador for 15 months, I can tell you people abandoned the idea of moving here because we did not have a field or even a date of when to expect one.

Great Place to Live
We're very happy we chose Stone Creek. The community is growing rapidly, but in a controlled manner. The location is very good, too; close enough to the stores but far enough away to avoid commercial traffic (except construction traffic). We would certainly recommend (and have) Stone Creek to any of our friends and relatives looking for this type of community.

Where's the softball field ?
Lived here from the beginning. The softball field was in phase two. That was 6 years ago and no prospects for the field as of today 2-8-13. We don't even have a place to just practice here.
The questions about softball have been asked at every board meeting. I know, because I'm the guy asking them. I'm told Pulte will have to be building 20 houses a month before any consideration of a field. We were told it would cost $300,000 to build. I would not recommend Stone Creek to any friends that want a field in their community.

few changes needed
This is a 55 over community. Elderly people need our pools warmer. They tell us they are 83 degrees but I strongly disagree with that statement. It would be nice if one of the pools was warmer. Also, in the ladies locker room there is no place for privacy. You have to change in front of others which I find embarasing.

Life At Del Webb Stone Creek
This is our third Del Webb community and as always, it more than exceeds our expectations. The amenities and clubs and opportunities to meet other home owners is incredible. As the old saying goes "If you are not busy here, it is because you have chosen not to be busy." Del Webb exceeds the standards of 55+ living that is not offered by other 55+ communities. What can I say, I love it here.

You get what you pay for
You have the opportunity to get involved in different activites if you want.
With the recent building of new homes there is so much more noise and traffic I wish there were a way to divert the traffic a different way to make it less noisy during the day.
I love the security here I feel very safe in this community. Kudos to the front gate people.
The cost of water is very high and to keep up the good appearance of the lawn it is very costly.
I wish there was a dog park ...it would make it much easier for people who own dogs.
Thanks for asking our opinion.

Outstanding Community
We have lived in Stone Creek for three years after owning a home in another community for eight years. The resort-style heated outdoor swimming pool is a one of the reasons we moved. The water is very comfortable year-round. The common areas are maintained exceptionally well. The golf course and restaurant are located just outside of the entrance to Stone Creek. This prevents non-residents from driving through the community. We are very pleased with Stone Creek and recommend it to others whenever we can.

I would never live anywhere else!
1. My health has improved by using the Elna facilities. I am motivated by the wide choice of fittness oppertunities.
2. Everyone is friendly, helpful and always happy to see you.
3. In the landscape package,I should have asked more specific questions. I feel I'm getting a landscape survival package. The time, money, water, fertilizer, trimming, and general health of the common areas always looks wonderful. However the garden homes, which are charged extra for the same requirments, are not being shown the same care The crews are super and very knowledgeable but there are not enough gardeners
to do the required work.

Need to replace inferior Technogym equipment with LifeFitness exercise equipment, as we had when I first came! Current pool-side table umbrellas are also inferior-smaller diameter, thin fabric.
Second generation builds are inferior to original buids--samll, choppy, closed-in feel--would buy resale , not new.

The people & amenities are grrrreat!
When I purchased my home it was because of the quiet location and beautiful amenities and not for the home floor plans. Closets too small in bedrooms 2 & 3 (Hanover), no phone/computer access in some rooms & water rates are outrageously high in Ocala! Very poor design/layout of bathrooms, esp. for seniors. But I'm happy with my re-designed Master "dream" bath - more efficient use of space, towel racks on wall (there was no space for a towel rack perviously), quality faucets/knobs and real tile in a proper-sized shower. I do like the kitchen space/layout in the Hanover & the beautiful country environs are a nice bonus at Stone Creek. Courteous treatment by Pulte/Del Webb staff has been consistent from the start. So if you don't care much about closet space or paying thru the tooth for water, come on down!

From the moment we drove through the front entry with the beautiful waterfall, we knew Stone Creek was going to be special. The amenities were far and away better than anything we observed in other communities.
We have lived in Stone Creek close to two years. Since we moved in, we have made new friends, taken several day trips, enjoyed the entertainment programming, and joined a number of clubs and activities. The homes are well built and offer a number of designs to meet individual tastes.

We moved to the Stone Creek Del Webb community from another retirement community in Texas. This community is far better. The amenities and the range of events are superior to that community. The Right Move For Us
We've been living in Stone Creek nine months now, are full time residents, and are truly enjoying the community. We have found so many welcoming neighbors, made several new friendships, love the amenities including the resort-style outdoor pool and golf course, and have become involved in a few clubs and activities. We bought a newly constructed house and have been impressed with the quality of construction. We are able to get to either the Atlantic Ocean beaches or the Gulf beaches for day trips and yet live in an area that rarely is impacted by hurricanes. This is truly a great lifestyle at an affordable cost of living!

Wonderful place to retire!
I'm very disappointed that Del Webb has chosen to plant a Live Oak tree in my front yard as well as along the residential streets. This is not the "right plant in the right place". Within 5 years, their extensive root systems can buckle streets, sidewalks, driveways, and intrude into irrigation and fresh water pipes. A Pulte community in Naples, FL (Village Walk) had to remove all of the Oaks planted due to their size. Residents will ultimately have to pay the price for removal and replacement with a smaller less invasive tree (Eagleston Holly?) once Del Webb has moved on.

Happy at Stone Creek
If anything needs to be done is probably a little more forceful enforcement of bylaws and HOA covenants. Security may also need to be looked into.
For instance, people do not seem to care much about observing common sense when walking on the common multi-use trail, more often than not they walk on the "wrong side" of the trail. Golf cart drivers seem to think that they own the trail or that it is there for their exclusive use.
Why are there "strangers", men in their early 30's fishing in our lakes and ponds? Not just during daytime but also well into the evening hours. I have witnessed this on two occasions and at another time a man left his car parked just outside the main entrance and very nonchalantly walked in unchallenged with fishing rod in hand.

I love living here, the people are great. There are some things that just do not make sense. For example why do we have to pick up crumbs from the floor, isn't that why we have cleaning crew? Ocala is horse country, we have this horse statue that we cannot display, it is sending back behnd the club house what is that all about. We are running out of room for the different clubs and there are no plans in the near future to build another club house.

Rent Before You Buy
I wish the Pulte Sales person would have been honest. I specifically asked about Heat Pump Noise and Location. I was told only certain models were built on the small interior lots. I bought a small home and they built a large home next to me. That means my neighbor's heat pump is directly across from my only window. It is very loud and runs 8-10 hours a day. It has totally ruined my Del Webb experience and now, after 3 years, I have to move.

Sixth Year Here, and Still No Itch!
We find our "villa" quite comfortable and well laid out. We enjoy most of the residents, a number of the activities, many of the amenities, being close to a small city with a relatively multicultural population, and the opportunities Ocala offers to be involved outside the age restricted community we live in. Since we don't golf, we are happy not to be tied directly to that amenity.

Love It Here!!!!
Our experience with the community has been most pleasant from the very beginning. The communication and cooperation during the building process and customer service during the first year were much more than we could have hoped for.
We had always planned to make this a "winter retreat" and be seasonal, but after two years of that, we decided that life here was so pleasant that we are now living here full time for the past two years and don't regret the decision in the least!! We love our home, we've made wonderful friends, and our only complaint is that there are not enough hours in the day nor days of the week for us to participate in all the activities and events available to us within StoneCreek and the surrounding area.

What are you waiting for????
When searching for a retirement community, Stone Creek quickly became the bar to which all other communities were measured. None could compare. We couldn't be happier and more satisfied. We have an excellent location, outstanding amenities, quality-built homes, and the biggest plus -- wonderful neighbors and friends. We are fortunate to have such a vast array of residents willing to share their talents and interests in starting and running the many clubs and groups we enjoy. This is the most active community by far. Not only do we enjoy staying physically fit with golf on our fabulous 18-hole course, dancing in our wonderful ballroom, walking and biking the miles of paved, scenic trails within the community, and working out in our state-of-the-art fitness center, but we also stay spiritually fit by participating in clubs that support community activities and charitable service. Come for a visit.....stay for a lifetime! We have found the fountain of youth -- it's not in St. Augustine...it's here in Stone Creek!

No Softball Field
When we bought was told there was going to be a softball field, but have been here almost seven years and still waiting. By the time they build it I will be too old to play or maybe not around anymore.

We are very pleased with our decision
We moved here the middle of December 2013 from southern Georgia. We are very pleased with our decision to move to Stone Creek. All of Our neighbors are wonderful caring Christians that have been so welcoming. They all socialize together, watch out for each other needs and help in anyway they can.
We love to socialize so I have been telling everyone we droped in to our social paradise here.
"The Grill" has wonderful food and service, the pool is second to none and looks better that most resorts and its even heated too.The indoor pool and both spas are wonderful too.
You can be very proud to have friends and family to visit in this wonderful place.
The only thing missing is horseshoes that my husband likes to play.
Other comment is more social events with softer music to make it easier to meet people.

A Great New Chapter!
We moved here and have never looked back. We especially enjoy all the new friends we have met in the dance club and elsewhere throughout the community. We both love being outdoors and to be able to do this year round in a warm climate is a real plus.
We felt that the opportunities and homes offered here were well demonstrated and explained in great detail during our initial visit, making our decision that much easier.
This is a close knit community and we feel well connected here.

What's not to like?
The amenities are without a doubt far superior to other developments in this price range. We love it here.

The Cadillac of 55 and older communities
There were several hundreds of dollars in fees to get us on the books and remove us from the books when we leave here. That's gouging us. This seems like a community of wealthy people, which is fine, but we don't fit in. We were shocked at the costs of cable tv, water, fertilizing, bug control, and painting homes. There seems to be more waste of electricity and water here than anywhere we've been. Landscaping the grounds must be extremely expensive and we're all paying for it. It's a nice community, but I don't like being reminded of the multitude of rules and everyone else's money. The homes are expensive and there is very little storage space for things like Christmas trees. We can't get used to no basements and no place to put ham radio antenna or my drums.

Love it here
They need to include a water softner hookup in the garage so it is much cheaper to hook up and you don't have to run the lines all the way under the driveway. Would cost you less than $100 but cost me $750. We do love the community and all it has to offer.

"Where Life Is Worth Living"
There was nothing here except for a field when we visited Spruce Creek in Summerville, Fl. That community was pretty much sold out but were told about the future community in Ocala, FL. We pick out our lot by an email sent to us by our sales representative knowing that the community would as good or better than Del Webb in Summerville. We trusted Del Webb and bought our home with no problem. We received everything that we were promised. We moved in August 2006. We love the lifestyle, the HOA and all all the friends we've made. Nothing beats the lifestyle and the security we feel living in Stone Creek.

Landscaping is exceptional
We find people to be very friendly and in most cases feel welcome at amenitities and activities.
We wish everyone wore name tags to help us remember their names.
We worry that our activities at the Reunion Center are going to get very crowded as we continue to build new homes and add residents.

We own two Del Webb homes
It has been a wonderful experience moving to Stone Creek. The neighbors are wonderful, much like our neighbors at Pioneer Ridge in Ohio. Everyone is helpful and welcoming. We love everything here including the weather which is not too hot and not at all cold!

Stone Creek Ocala, FL.
I love living here, with very few objections. I would like to have a privacy hedge on the easment line ,like Pulte puts in, where they need it to sell home. But overall, I need at least 2 more days per week to do all the activities I would like to do. I'm having more fun than I have ever had.(Course, I don't haved to work, and that's the best.)

More Pluses than Minuses!
We love Stone Creek and 95% of our neighbors. We enjoy the variety of activities and the willingness of Pulte to let us add more activities as the need/desire arises. However, when we bought here, our initial salesperson assured us there would be a dog park. At closing when it was mentioned in passing to our ASSIGNED new salesperson, we were told NO dog park was planned. Since we have always had a dog park wherever we have lived, we were very disappointed.
The only other item is the lack of rooms that can be used for cards, Mah Jongg, poker, you name it. Most such games cannot be played at the long tables that fill most of the rooms. We need more card rooms, but if we can use the other rooms and the portable card tables until we have additional facilities, that would be a big help.

Don't judge a book by its cover
I am very disappointed that this community does not have a community wide maintenance program. I really get tired of hearing mowers, trimmers, and blowers 7 days a week! If everyone in each neighborhood did the lawn maintenance on the same day two things would happen. One, only one day of annoying noises. Two, every lawn would be uniformly maintained. Also, one could be certain all lawns were properly maintained!...Also, in an all adult community residents should be allowed to take alcohol into the pool area as long as it is not in glass containers!....Another item of concern is allowing congregation of dog owners on multipurpose trail which at times restricts flow of others who use the trails.

Read the Rules
The first two or three years everything was great. The fitness center is well equipped, pools are never crowded.....life was good.
I wish I would have been given a copy of the design guidelines before I signed the contract.

Resort-style living in central FLorida
I've owned a villa since 2008 and get down 3-4 times a year. The property is maintenance-free and the turf and exterior are always in fine shape. I never have to worry about a thing.

Try it, you'll love it.
What's not to like. If you enjoy an active adult community, then this is the place for you. I don't think you could find better amenities at any other builders community. The name speaks for itself.
