Del Webb residents see our incredible amenities as more than buildings, pools, playing surfaces, ball fields, and gleaming fitness centers. They see amenities and our many clubs and classes as opportunities to make new acquaintances. And as venues where you might discover a side of yourself you never knew existed.
At Glenbrooke those opportunities present themselves in the Arbour Lodge, home to a state-of-the-art fitness center, Glenbrooke’s 9,000 square foot clubhouse. The Arbour Lodge includes a top-of-the-line fitness facility with locker rooms for both men and women. Joining one of the many clubs at Glenbrooke is also a great way meet your neighbors.

Meet Your Lifestyle Director
My name is Erin Bear and I am the Lifestyle Director at the Arbour Lodge at Glenbrooke. I am so excited that you have chosen to become a part of the vibrant lifestyle that we have begun within the Glenbrooke Community! The staff at the Arbour Lodge, Glenbrooke’s 9,000 square foot Recreation Center, is here to assist you in becoming involved in the numerous activities and events occurring each and every day!
Below are some of the lifestyle happenings in our community:
Recreation: If you love outdoor recreation, the Glenbrooke community has everything you need; two full size tennis courts, two bocce courts, a putting green, a par course, walking trails, and a lap pool and spa.
Indoor Activities: You can play your favorite card game or pick up a new hobby in our Activities Room. Weekly card games include canasta, Mexican train, pinochle, and bridge. We also have art classes, travel presentations, health and wellness talks, and more!
Interest Groups: Join a group of residents who share similar interests! We have everything from a Book Club, a Walking Group, Arts and Crafts Group, Bunco, Singles, Knitting and Sewing, Photography, Pet Group, and more! Also, if you have an interest that doesn’t have an existing group, then the Lifestyle Director will help you start your own.
Social Events: If you’re looking to make new friends, what better way to become acquainted than at our many special events? Each month you can enjoy yourself in a variety of settings; everything from theme parties, dinner dances, live bands, wine tasting, and more!
Fitness: At the Arbour Lodge, we have a state-of-the-art fitness center, filled with treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and strength and resistance machines for each muscle group. We also have fitness classes such as Yoga, Zumba, Strength and Conditioning, Line Dancing, and Aerobics.

About the Area
Elk Grove offers city wide amenities with the neighborhoods revealing a small town charm. Spring, summer, and fall months bring community events from the Western Festival to Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin ahd Harvest Festival. Elk Grove has a variety of entertainment and shopping venues with even more available in nearby Sacramento.
Shopping
Elk Grove offers a plethora of shopping choices on its two main strips, Laguna Boulevard and Elk Grove Boulevard. Everything from grocery stores such as Bel-Air, Longs, Trader Joe's, and The Nugget Market, to shopping options like Old Navy, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Cost Plus, Best Buy, Pier 1, Target, Borders, Kohls, Dress Barn, Rite Aid, Lowes, Costco, Sports Authority, and many more. And don't forget that Old Town and Downtown Sacramento shopping is only a quick 15 minutes away!
Recreation
The Elk Grove area offers a variety of recreational activities including a number of parks such as the Elk Grove Regional Park, Laguna Creek Parkway offering a trail system, Laguna community dog park, Morse Dog Park, Stone Lake nature preserve area, and the Barbara Morse Wackford Community and Aquatic Complex. Many more recreational facilities and parks in the area offer something for everyone.
Medical
Elk Grove contains two predominant medical facilities and is within close proximity to a third: Sutter Medical Group of Elk Grove (916-691-5900); UC Davis Medical Center of Elk Grove (916- 683-3955); and Kaiser Permanente of Sacramento (916-688-2000). Also, South Sacramento Medical Center and Elk Grove Medical Offices are alternate options.
Culture / Entertainment
Dining options range from family fare to fine dining. Besides the well known chains such as Mimi's Cafe and Logan's Roadhouse steakhouse, there are independent favorites like Mel Dog's Cafe, Elk Grove Brewery and Restaurant, Sweet Bean of Laguna, and Sunnyrose Cafe. Boulevard Bistro, Brickhouse, BJ's Brewery, Outback Steakhouse, Panera Bread, Chili's, Chevys are also local options for your dining occasion. Every taste is satisfied! Community pride is alive and well in Elk Grove with celebrations and events like the Annual Community Harvest and Giant Pumpkin Festival; Elk Grove Western Festival; Chamber's salute to Red, White and Blue; Strauss Festival of Elk Grove; and the Wilton's Firefighters Chili Cook-off. While the valley continues to grow, old fashioned charm can still be found in Old Town Elk Grove.

What do you love most about your Del Webb home?
We selected our Del Webb home because of the design and construction-it is the best in town.
What do you like about your Del Webb community?
When our old neighborhood became filled with renters, basketball hoops, and graffiti, we knew it was time to go. We like that Glenbrooke has a good Homeowners Association and we have confidence that our investment will increase with time due to a good secure neighborhood with homeowners who care.
What clubs and activities do you enjoy most?
We like the Dinners and Holiday Events, and the amenities at The Arbour Lodge. Living here has made it easy for Jim to donate time to the Elk Grove Historical Society acting as President and doing major projects like the Time Capsule with the city of Elk Grove, the restoration of the 1853 Foulks House (Oldest Home in Elk Grove) and working with Strauss Festival. Annaclare has recently joined the Cosumnes River College Patrons Club and is qualifying to volunteer at the Shriner’s Hospital. She is a volunteer for the Elk Grove Historical Society as a docent, serves on the Spring Tea Committee and Old Fashion Christmas Event. Both are active with the Native Sons and Daughters of the Golden West. Jim also held his 60th class reunion welcome party at the Arbour Lodge in September with 86 of his fellow classmates!

What do you love most about your Del Webb home?
We chose the Maggie because we liked the open floorplan. The kitchen is completely open to the living-dining room which best suits the informal way that we entertain. We also like that one of the spare rooms is big enough to fit a queen bed, but not so spacious that guests want to stay too long haha!
What do you like about your Del Webb community?
We moved to Glenbrooke because our son and daughter-in-law live here in Elk Grove. We love the location because you are close to everything whether a short trip out of town or the many shopping areas and restaurants close by. We chose Del Webb because of their reputation and 50 years of experience developing active adult communities. The people here are very friendly and we have been welcomed by various groups of very active & gregarious individuals. We love that there are plenty of opportunities to entertain and be entertained here.
What clubs and activities do you enjoy most?
At Glenbrooke you don’t have to go far for activities. The Arbour Lodge offers a wide range of classes and clubs. We really enjoy the monthly theme parties, potlucks, trips and outings. Tom has joined the photography club and plays ping-pong & pickle ball. He also now has time for a favorite hobby—woodworking because there is no need for his old chore/hobby—home repair & improvements. I like the yoga & fitness classes. Together we both do ballroom and line dancing. We are too busy to be “retired”!

What do you love most about your Del Webb home?
I moved to Glenbrooke after my husband passed away. I wanted to downsize because our previous house was too large. I really wanted something smaller and easier to maintain. I chose the Randall because of its’ size and livability. I like the living space being connected to the kitchen and I love seeing my backyard from my living room and master bedroom.
What do you like about your Del Webb community?
I chose Glenbrooke because of its’ location and because it’s a safe neighborhood. Plus, I have met very nice neighbors around my house and at the lodge. I feel very secure here.
What clubs and activities do you enjoy most?
I enjoy using the fitness center at the Arbour Lodge. Fitness is very important to me, and the variety of machines and equipment make it easy and enjoyable to stay in shape. I visit the fitness center every day after I get home from work. Living at Glenbrooke is Great!
